Peter Hill

Dr Peter Hill is a Research Software Engineer at the University of York, having originally studied at the University of Warwick for his PhD in Plasma Physics followed by a post-doc position studying magnetic islands at CEA Cadarache in 2012. He has now moved into developing and maintaining research software, and is a maintainer for two large plasma software projects, BOUT++ and GS2, as well for numerous other smaller projects. Peter’s main interest is on ensuring software sustainability; that is, that research software should continue to be able to be used now and in the future, and is a vital part of reproducible research.
