Peter Hill

Dr Peter Hill is an Associate Research Software Engineer at the University of York, having originally studied at the University of Warwick for his PhD in Plasma Physics followed by a post-doc position studying magnetic islands at CEA Cadarache in 2012. He has now moved into developing and maintaining research software, and is a maintainer for two large plasma software projects, BOUT++ and GS2, as well for numerous other smaller projects. Peter’s main interest is on ensuring software sustainability; that is, that research software should continue to be able to be used now and in the future, and is a vital part of reproducible research.
